Item Description
First is 1.75" button in orange and blue school colors from the era when Grange was on the Illinois team 1923-1925. Surface just a hair pushed in to the touch but clean, glossy and Fine. Second is 1.25" real photo (no dot screen) of Grange from waist up in uniform. He is beyond college age and has a very grim expression on his face on this c. 1930 photo button. However, with sharp eyes or magnification, clearly inscribed across the top of the football he holds is the word "ILLINI" in all caps. Tiny age around the reverse collet and tiny stain on bottom rim blending with the text. Rare. VF. The last Red Grange item in the Paul Muchinsky Collection.
