Speaking to 2,500 gathered women during the Bull Moose Party at the American Theater in Spokane, WA on Sept. 9, 1912, Roosevelt urged women of the state to take advantage of their newly obtained right to vote stating "It Is Not Only Your Right But Your Duty To Exercise It. You Are False To Your Duty As Citizens And Women If You Fail To Register And Vote."
