Item Description
Large and well made tin litho toy has 11" dia. by 12" tall. By Wolverine, 1950s. Comes in cardboard box w/printing on front and back panels in black including illustration of the toy. Moderate scattered box wear, some dust soiling, scattered creases on top flaps, one of which has large moisture stain. The illustrated front and back panels still display quite nicely and box overall is tight. Fine. The top of the merry-go-round has shield designs on outer surface including some w/animal silhouettes. The bottom of the base is decorated w/images of circus performers and animals including lion tamer, strong man and clowns. The center platform unit has five different attached horses ridden by children. Complete w/set of additional accessory pieces which are to be attached to the toy. These include four pennants and four different colored airplanes. The airplanes have wire frames which attach to the bottom edge of the top cover. Toy has a lever windup mechanism and works. Merry-go-round rapidly spins in turn causing the airplanes to "fly" all while musical notes are produced. Tiniest traces of wear and dust soiling. Exc.
