Item Description
2.5x3.5". The 1965 Philadelphia Gum Company's football set consists of 198 cards. Each card front of the company's sophomore offering bears the player's name, team name and position in a black box beneath the color photo, with the red-white-and-blue NFL logo situated at the lower right corner. Key rookie cards in this set include Paul Warfield (#41), Mel Renfro (#53), Carl Eller (#105), Paul Krause (#189) and Charley Taylor (#195).

Melvin Lacy Renfro is a former American football player, a cornerback who spent his entire 14-year career in the National Football League (NFL) with the Dallas Cowboys. Some career highlights include being in the Pro Bowl ten times and winning the Super Bowl on two occasions. Mel Renfro was inducted into the Pro Football Hall Of Fame in 1996.
