Item Description
35.5x23.5" glazed cotton. Likely produced by the American Flag Company of New York. Unlisted in Threads of History though Collins documented a nearly identical 1888 Harrison & Morton specimen listed as plate 648 on p. 276. Two repaired vertical separations one affecting the third "E" in "Vice President" and the other in field right of Reid portrait. Creases and fraying along fly end. Moisture marks throughout most notably affecting right third. VG. The first we've seen in our 56 years. Superb size, patriotic colors and bold portraits make this an impressive artifact that will display nicely once framed.
