Item Description
2" tall heavy cast brass fob w/bronze luster formed as boxing glove, flanked by two American flags and 3/4 relief figure of Jess Willard at glove's center. Raised name appears above the "Great White Hope" w/"World's Champion" at bottom. Back has raised "Redeemer Of The White Race - Havana, Cuba - April 5, 1915" text, noting Willard's win over Jack Johnson, whom he knocked out in the 26th round to win the world heavyweight boxing championship. Small raised "Pat. Pending - Guinti Mfg. Co. - Prov. R.I. U.S.A." text at bottom. Traces of verdigris in the deep crevices on front but VF overall. Rare. Paul Muchinsky Collection.
