The game takes place in an alternate reality from the original trilogy where the film Army of Darkness never took place, depicting what would have happened if Ash did not get sent back in time at the end of the film Evil Dead II. Bruce Campbell voices Ash Williams and Ted Raimi voices The Sidekick in the game.
