Item Description
1-13/16" brass case w/bottom celluloid-covered compass having detailed map of 1893 "World's Fair Grounds." Embossed top reads "The Columbus Needle-The Simplest And Most Complete Souvenir Guide To The World's Fair Chicago 1893." Brass top and bottom each have a couple of tiny areas of lt. oxidation. Top piece has inside index cardboard insert w/list of various fair buildings and w/corresponding number areas that appear on bottom compass piece. First seen rare 1893 World's Fair item not found in known collections.
