c. 1910. 4.7 dwt. 1.5" long and 1" wide. Exquisite 14k yellow gold Art Nouveau brooch/pendant. Center gemstone is a 3 carat (16mmx8mm) genuine oval cut Australian opal cabochon w/a beautiful play of color and no crazing. The opal is flanked on each side by enameled herons w/three 0.03 carat diamonds at the top of the opal and one 0.03 carat diamond at the bottom. Total diamond weight is 0.12 carats. This piece has a bail which a chain can be added to wear as a necklace (chain shown not included). The bail is hinged and can be flipped down to be worn as a brooch. Horizontal hinged bar pin on the back. This stunning brooch/pendant is unsigned,but of superb craftsmanship.
