Item Description
2-1/8x3" two-ply cello sheet w/bar pin and W&H maker's name on back. Reads in full "Ask To Hear Rhapsody In Blue Starring Oscar Levant Plus Many Other Great New Gershwin-Columbia Recordings Columbia Records." Levant was a child prodigy who became an accomplished composer and pianist. He was considered the premiere interpreter of the work of his friend George Gershwin. He was also a wit whose unpredictable comments in the early years of live television kept everyone guessing. His appearances on Jack Parr's Tonight Show are legendary. He did have some problems as might be surmised from his quotation "Well...schizophrenia beats dining alone." Exc., displays Mint. First seen. Rare.
