Item Description
Like the previous lot, this 5.75" tall badge has a "Citizen's Committee" cello and brass hanger.  The American flag ribbon holds large 2.5" tall NM brass luster shield frame enclosing text "Reception To Soldiers Returning From The 'Border'/Emaus, Pa., January, 1917". This town is very close to Allentown so this was a joint civic reception for some 200 men mustered out Jan. 15, 1917. They had served seven months as Companies B and D of the Fourth Regiment.
Exc. One known to us. Rare.
