Item Description
13.5x17.75". Fillmore was the last member of the Whig Party to serve as president, but in 1856 he headed the American Party or Know-Nothing Party ticket which was concerned that immigrants, particularly Irish Catholics, threatened Protestant American values. The slogan above the eagle reads "The Constitution And The Union." Edge wear and areas of loss, most notably in the upper and lower right hand corners. Horizontal tear across the center on the right and left margins, w/heavy crease on portraits. Beautiful and rich color. Technically VG, but will frame above grade.
