Item Description
March 15, 1941 issue has Shadow battling the Ku Klux Klan. Lt. handling wear with tiny chips and tears to top and bottom of spine. Second page (letters page) is loose. First page has loosened from staples but is still bound in. Fine. Comes w/.75" silver/brass lapel stud w/threaded post and cap reverse. Issued by Street & Smith, publishers of "The Shadow." Moderate luster loss. Fine. It is in this issue that a young Edward G. Nickerson wrote in to the "The Pulse Of The Nation" letters page and sent in 10¢ for lapel stud. Consignor visited Mr. Nickerson in the 1990s, Nickerson was still living at his childhood home and our consignor bought the very same lapel stud from him. Pulp and stud come w/photo of Mr. Nickerson holding this issue. Great provinance.
