Item Description
10.5x13x3" deep box. c. 1930s. Lid text includes "Educational/Instructive/Art Development/China-like Affect Just Paint It On/No Firing! No Baking!" Character image on lid include Orphan Annie, Denny Dimwit, Dick Tracy, etc. Box shows scattered paint loss/water marks. Slightly concave, but remains sturdy and unbroken. Box VG. Original insert holds six paint jars plus glaze and thinner. Unpainted figures remain in original corrugated wrapping. Bottom of each figure is marked "Professional Art Products Chicago Five Ill./Distributors Of Copyrighted Figurines." Andy 6.5" tall. Chester 5" tall (hairline at legs). Inside box lid has full list of available characters including Little Orphan Annie, Winnie Winkle, Smitty, Little Joe, Gasoline Alley, Captain Midnight, The Gumps, Dick Tracy. Text points out that all characters are licensed through appropriate copyrights. Overall VG.
