This watch was sold in a small red box w/white text and branding iron designs and we know it was available in Dec. 1948 through Kresge five and dime stores. The three or so we’ve seen all had black metal cases. This is first seen in cream paint, obviously original. Paint surface is covered w/microscopic tiny wavy lines, but no cracks, both front and back. A few very tiny chips off, nearly all on reverse outer edge w/small .25x5/8” slightly gray mark at center of case back. The “Hopalong Cassidy” dial has 1/8” hairline of paint gone but above the numbers 1 and 2 and detracting very little. Running and VF. Rare.
