Item Description
2x2x4.5" tall. c. early 1940s. Former Disney employee Burt Gillette was responsible for creating this stereotype Black youngster who, after a brief opportunity at movie stardom in 1939, resurfaced in Walt Lantz comic books in the 1940s. Different from one offered in Hake's Auction #180, item #2330. This one has red speckled shirt, blue pants and fingernails. Air bubble under base as made. High glaze. Exc.
