Item Description
3.25" deep wood box and hinged lid 4.75x4.75". Lid is capped by chocolate brown molded thermoplastic plate recessed slightly towards the central oval around the slightly raised and nicely detailed bust portrait and name within the oval. Front edge of wood lid secures by small brass hasp. Underside stamped into wood at center "Scovill M'F'G Co. N.Y. Pat. 8-28-1877." Arthur has small chip on thermoplastic plate along bottom edge that detracts little. Garfield has crack in upper right and lower left corners that are stable and barely noticeable. Otherwise moderate handling wear on each. Both are Fine. A scarce pair featuring the 1880 Republican ticket.
