Item Description
7.25x27.5" flat. Manufactured by Sprague & French (Norwalk, OH). Complete w/original wood and metal device for expanding. Featuring two panels each w/candidate's last name on American flag and portraits in ornate frames. Note the handlebar mustachioed portrait of Morton that was much less commonly used in 1888 campaign items. When expanded this lantern is about 22" dia. and was used to light evening political events. Separations along seams, moderate toning and scattered light stains. VG. A large an impressive survivor from the 1888 election.
