Item Description
3.5x5". Silvered brass. Text underneath caricatures reads "Kindred Spirits Of The Strenuous Life". London, England based Punch published this cartoon by E. T. Reed in their Nov. 16, 1904 issue creating an uproar in Berlin where police tore out the page containing the caricature of the Emperor and President Roosevelt before hitting newsstands. The censorship only advanced the image and this plaque is a result. Only light wear, most notably along the top edge. Still Exc. Only the third we can recall encountering in our 57 years. Mike Nichols Collection.
