Item Description
Howitzer Yearbook is 8.25x10.25". Copyright 1915 by Clesen H. Tenney. 357 pgs. w/additional 42 pgs. of advertisements at the end. Eisenhower is pictured on pg. 80 w/small and humorous "biography" below his portrait. Omar Nelson Bradley, the last five-star general in the American military, was also a member of the 1915 class and is pictured on p. 55. Small tear on Eisenhower page along bottom edge. Moderate wear on cover, most notably along the top and bottom edges of the spine. Overall VF. Furlough Book is 93 pgs. Features youthful portrait of Eisenhower on pg. 38 as a cadet w/caption reading "Football, Baseball Squad" w/his nickname "Ike" below his portrait. The furlough book was made and personalized for each cadet and served as a supplement to the yearbook, featuring images of all the cadets, the various buildings and barracks at West Point, as well as listing the various clubs at West Point w/school songs in back of book. Eisenhower is also pictured on pg. 62 on the Baseball and Football "Yearling" photos. This particular book belonged to Warner William Carr, a 1916 graduate of West Point, who served as a Major in the American Expeditionary Forces during WWI. Moderate wear on cover w/some areas of loss and chipping along spine, as well as along the edges. Otherwise moderate handling wear on exterior.
