Series of twenty-four 11x16" color portraits of the "Cowboy Kings." 11.25x16.25" hardbound portfolio has embossed gold luster lettering. Four bound text pages with introduction reading "Western Stars Art Series Closest To John Ford's Heart." Top of cover page is signed in ink "To Ernest Cunningham/With Best Wishes/Will Williams." Pencil notation above inscription "11-5-85." First hardcover edition ©1973. Each color portrait is printed on heavy paper with artist's name "Will Williams" at top. Bottom reads "Copyright 1973 Copyright Western Series Inc. Hollywood, California USA." Back of each portrait has lengthly bio of western star. Stars include: Tom Mix, William Boyd, John Wayne, Buck Jones, Ken Maynard, Gabby Hayes, Ward Bond, Gary Cooper, Tim McCoy, Warner Baxter, Joel McCrea, Leo Carillo, Johnny Mack Brown, Harry Carey, Wallace Beery, Bob Steele, George O'Brien, Bill Elliott, Hoot Gibson, Will Rogers, Tom Keene, William S.
