Item Description
5.5” tall by 6.5” long tin litho w/litho figures of Buffalo Bob 7” tall and Howdy Doody 8” tall. 1950s. Illustrated box has creases, a small surface paper tear, tape repairs on interior. Interior flaps have instructions for assembling toy and there is a cut-out picture of Howdy on one side of box. Displays Fine. Toy works and Buffalo Bob’s arms move as he rocks back and forth as Howdy dances his “Doin’ The Howdy Doody” dance. Underside of piano stamped “© Bob Smith.” Piano has great graphics including Flub-A-Dub on front, Clarabell and “Howdy the Kid’s President” pictured on sides. Back panel shows the Peanut Gallery pointing down at other toys made by Unique including “Unique Artie, Kiddie Cyclist, Bombo, Lincoln Tunnel,” etc. A few scattered paint nicks, two on Howdy’s face, typical lt. scratching on his pants, some paint wear to Buffalo Bob’s arms and rim of his hat. Still piano is Exc. and figures are VF. A nice example of this 1950s true toy classic.
