Item Description
1.5" black on cream over-printed by large red tone question mark and red text "Who Is The Phantom Of The West?" Center area has human head with no facial details other than tiny eyes looking out of a mask. In the background., a group of riders on the right chase a single rider on fleeing on  horseback shown at left. This was Mascot's second all-talkie serial and the stars' names are printed below: Tom Tyler, William Desmond, Philo McCullough, Dorothy Gulliver, Kermit Maynard (later known as star Ken Maynard), Tom Santschi, Joe Bonomo. No back paper as issued but with name of maker Bastian on curl. Over the years, we've seen about seven of these and this is a superb NM example.
