Item Description
20.25X26.5", stone litho poster printed by Otis Lithograph Co., 1920s. Poster designed for Ohio born Grover George (1887-1958) to promote his "Triumphant American Tour" having perfected his act five years touring Central and South America w/a troupe of 18 performers. Upon his return to the U.S. he was targeted by magician Howard Thurston and effectively sued into obscurity when George tried to book high profile venues for his act. George retired to Sao Paolo, Brazil where he died never having significantly toured in America. Vibrant color. Trivial color bleed top left and single puncture in field bottom right corner. Exc.
