Item Description
15.75" dia. two-sided transluscent dark red vinyl for programs #218-219, parts 5 & 6 of "The White Plague" storyline which were initially broadcast on July 2 and 4, 1941. This radio program was begun in Feb. 1940 as a three times a week radio serial and was discontinued in Mar., 1942. Show was revived again in Aug., 1942 and continued until Feb., 1949. Bud Collyer starred as the voice of Superman. Paper label has classic image of Superman breaking chains on each side. Sound Studios Of New York Inc. name appears on label as they were the makers of disk, produced by Western Electric Co. 33-1/3 rpm. Labels have scattered spotting from glue application as is normal w/labels of this type. Record has lt. wear, overall Exc. Comes w/original 16x16" sleeve from Sound Studios of New York Inc. Transcription Headquarters. Sleeve has some fading at margins, VF. This disk comes w/CD offering recordings of programs on actual disk.
