8x10x.5" deep box contains set of four complete war insignia stamp albums. Each album is 7.5x10.5". Vol. 1 has 12 pages while the other three have 16 pages. Each is designed to hold 50 different full color gummed stamps picturing insignia and all are complete w/stamps neatly mounted at appropriate spots in each volume. © 1942. The lid of the box is covered w/actual insignia stamps plus paper label detailing what is included w/this set. Mentions "Designs Are By Walt Disney, Walter Lantz, Pat Sullivan, George McManus And Other Famous Artists." Lower right corner is missing a 1" spot of the label partially removing some of this text. Box lid and bottom both have three corner splits, scattered dust soiling, top center area has small scattered surface paper flakes to stamp margins. VG. The albums include a number of stamps featuring Disney characters such as Dumbo, Baby Pegasus, Little Hiawatha, Donald Duck, Jiminy Cricket, Goofy, Pluto, others. Vol. 2 has 6" split along spine edge but contents remain VF to Exc. Vols. 1, 3, 4 are VF to Exc. Rare in this boxed format, only the third we've seen and our last example brought over $1800.
