Item Description
The Mickey Waddle Book was originally published in 1934 by Blue Ribbon Books. This is a first printing of the Spanish edition from 1935. 8x10.25" hardcover w/28 pages. Features story art in both bw and full color plus two instruction pages for assembling the Waddles. Book was issued w/four bound-in cardboard pages featuring punchout Waddle figures of Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Pluto and Tanglefoot. These pages have been totally removed from the book. This has left noticeable gaps at two signatures but all pages remain intact. Contents are very lightly aged but totally clean. Cover has lt. trace of wear along extreme edges but remains bright and glossy w/vibrant color. Still a solid, VF copy. The dust jacket has moderate scattered edge wear, tiny tears. Appearance remains clean and Fine. Complete w/4.25x10.5" glossy paper band that originally wrapped around the outside of the book. Lt. edge wear. VF. This is only the third band we've seen as they were usually disposed of after purchase of the book. Book comes w/complete set of Waddles, all of which have been neatly punched out. Included w/Waddles are small panels featuring character images and names which were part of the punchout pages but rather than being discarded, original owner saved them. Also included is original plain paper envelope containing all six metal fasteners used in assembling the figures. The figures were once assembled but very neatly done. Small scattered traces of wear, lt. creases but no serious defects. All Waddles are VF. Also included is the original illustrated envelope which contains the diecut cardboard ramp. Envelope has scattered lt. edge wear but VF. Ramp itself is bright, clean and Exc. An exceptional example in choice condition. A complete and unpunched example of this Spanish edition sold at auction for over $9000.
