Item Description
9.5x13". c. 1810. Printed for G. Willig (Philadelphia). Age toning w/moderate edge wear and some faint scattered spotting. Fine. Dolley Madison was First Lady from 1809 until 1817. She famously saved Gilbert Stuart's iconic painting of George Washington during the British burning of Washington in 1814 as she fled the White House during the War of 1812. Perhaps the first piece of sheet music for a First Lady.
