Item Description
4 puppets plus one original box all by Zany Toys/Jay V. Zimmerman Company. ©1950. Box reads “Tiger Kid Puppets/The Scrappy Champion/He-Man Puppet Complete With Pair Of Boxing Gloves.” Box nicely illustrated with images of both the white and black boxers for which puppets were produced. Box is missing cellophane window and has three .5” tears at die-cut window. Other scattered wear/aging. Fine. Puppets are 8” to 9” tall with vinyl heads, boxing gloves on two, fabric bodies. The two white boxers with boxing gloves are identical except for fabric bodies which are in different patterns. Both of these have moderate scattered wear/aging. VG/Fine. The other two puppets are as issued but with just fabric bodies, no boxing gloves. One is of the white boxer, the other is black boxer who bares a resemblance to Joe Louis. Both have aging to bodies, some color rubs on heads. Fine. From the Andy Levison Collection.
