Item Description
7.75x11.5x4" tall. c. 1840. Gen. Wm. H. Harrison The Hero of Tippecanoe" 8.25x5" reverse glass affixed to lid of hinged veneered wood box lid w/scattered chips on veneer. Portrait is flanked by red and white stripes w/blue upper portion featuring a log cabin and a cider barrel. Bright colors remain on the glass. Text is reflective gold. Paper lining on lid and bottom. Of the few examples known, many have cracked glass making this a stunning survivor. A great, colorful display item for an early campaign. Box VF. Glass Exc. Rex & Patti Stark Collection
