Item Description
24x29" framed. 22x27" matted w/18x23" opening. Printed transcript of McClellan's nomination acceptance speech for the Presidency of the United States on the Democratic ticket. Opening of speech reads: "Orange, N.J., Sept. 8, 1864. Gentlemen: I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter, informing me of my nomination by the Democratic National Convention, recently held at Chicago, as their candidate at the next election for President of the United States." Moderate wear seen along the outer edges of broadside, including small scattered tears and creases. Some age toning, mostly relegated to the outer edges. VF. Not examined outside of frame.
