Item Description
21x29" on thin paper. "Calhoun Show Print" in bottom margin. Dated Friday, November 2, 1917. Event held at the State Armory in Hartford, CT. Just months after Wilson declared war and the U.S. entered WWI, Teddy came to Hartford at the invitation of Gov. Marcus H. Holcomb under the auspices of the State Council of Defense. Teddy, a firm backer of the U.S.'s involvement in the war, came to speak to the audience "To Talk to You on Your Duty in this War." Moisture stain along the bottom just below text reading "This is a Public Meeting." A few tears along the edges, as well as a few tiny areas of loss in the corners. Moderate overall handling and wear. VG. Will frame above grade. Rex & Patti Stark Collection.
