Item Description
14x18". c. 1850. Produced in Philadelphia, PA by C. Younglove Haynes retaining original broadside on verso. Gold painted gesso bas relief portrait of standing Clay who leans against a book while holding a scroll. After a daguerreotype of the Kentucky Senator, Speaker of the House, Secretary of State and two time Presidential nominee. Frame has scattered missing pieces of Greco-Roman border. Some scattered splits in gold paint most notably to book in Clay's hand. VG. Remains an impressive display piece. Rex & Patti Stark Collection.
