1-1/8" tin litho. No maker but union mark in back. Great photo image of Don wearing massive Indian headdress which obscures his trademark Mohawk hairstyle which became known as a "Don Eagle" haircut. Few tiny scratches at top center, other lt. wear but bright, clean appearance. Fine. Scarce. Paul Muchinsky Collection.
Eagle (Carl Donald Bell) was a Canadian Mohawk boxer and professional wrestler during the 1950s and 1960s. Originally from Kahnawake, Quebec, he became Boston's AWA World Heavyweight Champion in 1950. In the early days of 1950s television competed with the greatest names of the day including Buddy Rogers, Lou These, he was the first person to throw heavyweight boxing champion Primo Carnera off his feet and he fought Antonino Rocca to a 60-minute draw in 1951 at Chicago Stadium. He also had a classic match with famed wrestling show man Gorgeous George. He died at just 40 years of age in 1966 in what some say was suicide and others believe to be a murder.
