Item Description
1934 pocket watch w/2" dia. metal case and has attached 3.75" long leather strap holding 1.5" tall silver luster aluminum fob. Front of fob has enameled paint design depicting the Three Pigs playing instruments w/text "Who's Afraid Of The Big Bad Wolf." Lt. scattered surface wear, mostly only visible in reflected light. Retains near full luster/enamel paint. VF. Back of watch is designed like a brick wall w/large door at center which has inscription "May The Big Bad Wolf Never Come To Your Door/Walt Disney." This incised text was originally highlighted w/red paint but as is typical, no paint remains. Dial features great full figure images of Three Pigs plus large Wolf head w/separate eye that moves as seconds tick. Watch is wound tightly but not over wound but it ticks only for a few minutes before stopping. Would most likely benefit from a cleaning. The outer center rim edge has most silver luster worn down to brass, luster on front outer rim and back of case is bright and near complete. On outer rim edge of the dial between the 3 and 4 is 1/8" sliver flake of surface paper. An additional tiny 1/16" sliver flake appears at the 1 and just below diecut eye but these are really only noticeable upon very close inspection. The dial coloring which usually is faded, especially the red, remains strong and dial has a clean appearance. Technically Fine but displays as VF due to defects not being readily evident.
