Item Description
6x8.5x14.5" tall to top of hat, 18" tall to top of plume. From 1940. Left side of body has stitched tag reading "Authentic Walt Disney Character Exclusively With R. G. Kruger, New York." As described in Disneyana by Munsey, the stuffed doll is "Made In A Glazed Fabric That Looks Like Leather." Has oilcloth eyes, plush plume, felt tongue, jacket buttons, epaulettes neck bow. Doll has professional glue repair to seam splits at neck and each leg where they join the body. These are only evident when viewed closely. Hat has a .5x3" streak on bottom left side that wraps around to the back where blue color is a slightly different shade and appears to have been touched up but again, only noticeable when viewed closely. Doll's body has very lightly aged, slightly more noticeable on white areas than rest of body. Overall all defects are minor as appearance remains exceptionally nice, all of the small felt accent pieces and tag remain intact. Technically Fine but appearance is VF. A rare and well made doll.
