Item Description
Lot consists of 5.5x7.75" stiff paper folder album w/inner storage pockets containing complete amount of 12 stationery sheets and 12 generic envelopes, still w/paper band holding them together. Ovaltine premium, 1937. Outside of folder shows illustration of Annie and Sandy delivering mail. Back cover shows Joe Corntassel mailing a letter along w/facsimile letter from them. Inside of folder features detailed instructions, mentions the 1937 Secret Society decoder pin and includes coupon for additional stationery kits which were available for one Ovaltine seal and 10¢. Back of folder is tanned, front is clean and bright. Sheets are each a folded paper 3.25x5.25" opening to 6.5" long. Printed on outside of each on front top is "ROA/SOS" logo while reverses feature a total of three different full color scenes at lower left of Annie, Joe and Sandy walking to school, fishing and playing on a swing. On inside top center margin are portraits of these three characters plus their names. There are four sheets per character. These images have a diecut slit on their mouths and this was to be pressed out so that when the sheet was opened and closed, it appears as if the character is moving its mouth and talking. This diecut slit was popped out on just one Sandy and one Annie sheet, rest are unused. One other Annie sheet has scattered lt. creases o/w stationery is Exc. Seldom found complete.
