Item Description
Lot of six, sizes range from 1-3/8" to 2.5" dia. Brass badges issued as members advanced rank to rank in the Quaker Cereal-sponsored radio club of 1938-1939. The only badge not here is the ultra-rare "Patrol Leader" which we've seen twice in 38 years. Each badge has Tracy portrait and reads "Dick Tracy Secret Service Patrol" plus the ranks of "Member (1-3/8"), Second Year Member, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, Inspector General (2.5" dia)." The "Lieutenant" badge is black on silver luster while the other five are all brass luster. "Lieutenant" badge has lt. silver luster loss, all others are outstanding, Exc. to N. Mint w/only very minor traces of luster loss. "Inspector General" rank is quite scarce and lists in the Hake's Premium Toy Guide 5th edition at $1000 in N. Mint. The total for all six in this guide in N. Mint is $1910. As these six average a solid, Exc.+, the group opens at a conservative $850. A beautiful set to frame for display.
