Item Description
8.5x13x3" deep. Late 1940s - early 1950s. Hassenfeld Bros. Delightful illustration on hinged doctor kit lid with children as doctor and nurse tend to doll as dog looks on. Text at bottom reads "'Oh My' What A Serious Case." Brass clasp and handle with luster loss. .5" dia. moisture mark on lid, o/w box is sturdy, clean, Fine. Inside lid has illustrated "Diploma/Toyville Medical College/Toyville, U.S.A." Diploma has been filled in with child's name and date in pencil. Box insert holds various supplies and instruments made of wood/cardboard/plastic. Instruments include eye tester, stethoscope, glasses, mallet, microscope, thermometer, tongue depressor, scissors, watch. All are original and appear unused. "Laboratory Test Tube" has been replaced with pencil. Boxed supplies include absorbent cotton, gauze bandage, handi-aid, Cheerio candy pills. 2.5" tall glass Bayer aspirin bottle is included and is filled with sugar tablets. Bottle and tablets may have been added. Kit also includes numerous paper pieces found in "Young Doctors Guide Book." Such items include eye chart, return time card, prescription forms, height and weight chart, warning signs for Chicken Pox/Scarlet Fever and appointment pad. Near complete contents VF/Exc.
