Item Description
10x15" with 36 single-sided pages. New York American And Journal ©1904 William Randolph Hearst. Features color strips by James Swinnerton, one of the pioneers of the modern comic strip. Technically, book is in Poor condition with front cover detached but included. Back cover is missing as is cloth spine binding. Cover has handling wear with moderate dust soiling and title page is sliced but included. Last page is detached but included. Interior pages with exception of title page remain clean with bright and bold colors and light even aging with an Exc. appearance. Very rare with only 3 known examples of this book, this example was featured in the 35th edition of The Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide in a Platinum Age history article as well as the 36th edition in the color photo gallery.
