Item Description
Lot of 12 paper proofs measuring between 8.5x17" and 9.5x18.5". For Bell-McClure Syndicate, the distributor of the "Superman" daily strip and drawn by Wayne Boring, noted for his work on the Superman comic books in the 1940s and 1950s. Each page consists of 6 typically 3-panel strips, the vast majority featuring Superman, his alter-ego Clark Kent or Lois Lane showing up at least once on each page. For the weeks of Apr. 29, 1963 through Sept. 21, 1964. Originally obtained directly from Boring. Pages have tanned with age and have somewhat brittle edges. Mild to moderate edge wear with tears and some chips, not affecting art. Most are Fine overall.
