Item Description
6" dia.x2" deep tan litho container marked "By Permission Walt Disney-Mickey Mouse Limited." English c. 1937. Lid features illustration based on the 1937 short Don Donald which featured the first and only appearance of Donna Duck as her name was changed in 1940 to Daisy. Sides of tin in red/silver feature images of Mickey, Minnie, Elmer, Clara Cluck, Clarabelle, Pluto plus Donald and Donna. Silver finish on underside of tin is for the most part worn off, additional wear to interior with some traces of oxidatin. Both lid and sides of tin have overall scattered tiny age dots but very little paint wear except for small nicks/scratches mostly around outer rim edge. Lid also has a few minor indents only noticeable to the touch. Despite defects, appearance is still quite bright and colors are very strong. Fine. Scarce. From the Deak Stagemyer Collection.
