Item Description
For the complete and very interesting story on "Micky," visit - http://www.middletownborough.com/Community/history/micky_1926.asp These are similar to the Fun-E-Flex figures with wood bodies and fabric-covered wire arms, legs, necks and tails for posing. Each is complete with "Micky" (note spelling) label on chest. One has black body and is 4" tall, the other has red body and yellow feet and is 4.75" tall. These were produced by Performo-Toy Company and distributed by George Borgfeldt Co. The patent for this toy was applied for August 17, 1926, pre-dating Disney's Mickey by two years. This Micky toy was sold from 1927 to 1931 at which time Disney filed a lawsuit and the courts ordered Performo-Toy to stop all production of these toys and destroy any existing stock. Both of these figures have just light trace of aging. VF. From the Deak Stagemyer Collection.
