Item Description
This rare 1926 badge is 1.75" brass with wing design flanking stylized panel representing an open book with "OZ" at center. Reverse reads "The Ozmite Club." Issued by the Oz book publishers Reilly and Lee. Badge was free and was obtained by signing up in the book department of select stores. Members also received Ozmite Club "Secrets" as a separate hand-out. Only our 4th example in 40 years. Our thanks to Oz expert Bill Stillman for the historical bkg. on this item. Clean and Exc. with some original luster remaining. Our last, in auction #186, was strongly contested, realizing $1,815 plus premium.
