Auction 192 - Part II
Item numbers 1053 though 2638 in auction 192
Item Description
2-3/16" from the earliest days of the west coast Mickey Mouse clubs which began in 1930. Clubs elected officers from "Chief Mickey Mouse" on down and this button denotes the rank of "Courier." Like the only other we've seen, noticeable gray stain surrounds about 3/4 of the circumference going inward no more than 1/8". Vast majority remains clean and all retains its high gloss. Surface slightly dented to the touch. No backpaper on the reverse, likely as issued. A 1" segment of the collet is slightly flattened. This design was used very briefly as with the growing popularity of the club the studio quickly stepped in and revised these buttons so that the second version Mickey looks more like he does on our item #1093. A rare and historic Disney item. Our first example exceeded $1,100.
