Toy has an overall assembled size of 3x7x10" tall. c. 1941. The box features just text and this is repeated on all side panels and end flaps. Box has moderate scattered wear/aging with some creases, a .25" puncture on front panel, 1" puncture on back panel. However, box remains structurally sound with all flaps intact. VG. The toy features a tin litho car with built-in key while the 3.5" tall figures of Popeye and Brutus are celluloid. Car is detailed with the name "Funny Fire Fighters" plus images of fire equipment. Brutus is attached to the steering wheel while Popeye is attached atop the removable ladder. Toy works and travels around in an erratic fashion, and as this toy was described in original catalogue advertising "Bucks, Rears And Twists But Popeye Atop His Ladder Hangs Right On Through All Sorts Of Reckless Driving." On the right side of the car's body there are 2 areas each about .5x1" with paint wear and surface oxidation. The rest of the car just has typical light wear with scattered tiny paint nicks and scratches but retains a bright and glossy appearance. Each figure is quite nice overall, both having just one minor indent. This appears on the front of Popeye's hat and on Brutus's nose. Overall toy is Fine. One of the rarest and most desirable Popeye wind-ups and this is the only example we've ever offered in our 40 years.
