Lot of 16 ©1938 Gum Inc. All are variety, with machine-printed, over-print text on card backs promoting the Horrors of War card series. These rare "over-print" cards were issued in other packs of Gum, Inc. cards and also sent to schools for distribution to students. Three cards have been graded by SGC. These are - #97 - VG/Exc 50, #112 - Exc. 60, #118 - VG/Exc. 50. The remaining cards graded by us as: VG - #s 51, 64, 101, 104; Fine - #s 55, 59, 60, 98, 111, 113; VF - #s 69, 72, 120. The VG cards have noticeable margin wear/aging, #101 has .25" puncture at center but this only shows upon close inspection. Fine cards have general light wear. VF cards show only light margin aging/corner tip wear.
