Item Description
6.5" tall tin litho toy with built-in key. Marked "Made In Germany." 1930s. Vendor is depicted with balloons over one shoulder and hand points downward to his vendor box which is filled with toys such as airplanes, dolls, balls, marbles, etc. Attached below this is a separate tin piece representing a rope with a pair of monkeys holding onto the bottom. Attached to his right arm by a string is a two-sided die-cut tin piece depicting a Mickey Mouse doll, teddy bear and black cat. Toy works and as he raises and lowers his arm, monkeys rapidly move back and forth and his separate eyes move and are visible through die-cut openings on his head. The platform base has a few minor bends, the swinging monkeys have a .25x3/8" area of missing paint. Tops of shoes also have some missing paint due to monkeys rubbing against them during operation. Rest of toy has some scattered paint nicks. A nice example of this classic wind-up toy. Fine.
