Item Description
Complete game with 56 cards. Each 2.5x3.5". Four cards represent the right and left bowers of the Democratic and Republican parties. Candidates' names appear below each image. Four cards represent Jokers including one with image and text below "James G. Blaine, Of Maine/America's Greatest 'Joker'." Detailed graphics and text appear on remaining three with Republican raccoon holding an American flag which reads "American Manufacture." The Democratic rooster holds a bandanna with text including "Free Wool Better Than Free Whiskey." Uncle Sam is depicted in a rocking chair holding the globe with accompanying text reading "Lower Taxes On Neccessaries, Better Living For Wage Earners." Each of the remaining playing cards show images of 38 state and 10 territorial governors with their respective electoral votes. All territory cards receive "0" electoral votes and are representing Montana, Indiana, Arizona, Idaho, Alaska, Utah, Dakota, Washington, New Mexico, Wyoming. The back of each card has a nicely-detailed graphic of "The White House" surrounded by an eagle, shield and U.S. flags. Each card has rounded corners (likely as made) and light to moderate handling wear with scattered and variable discoloration. Overall cards are Fine. Comes with original box with humorous political poem relating to the enclosed cards. Back of box explains "Political Euchre Rules." Box top has 1" flap missing. Box edges are sewn together with black thread. Box shows extensive wear and comes along to complete the game. Extensive and detailed history lesson explaining politics of the day. First we've seen.
