Lot of three. First is 21x28" poster c. 1940s. Linen-backed. Poster art by Bill Bailey features Mr. Gargantua holding "The Greatest Show On Eartth" sign and Mrs. Gargantua holding "Buy War Bonds" sign.1" wide strip of surface paper loss at bottom margin where date marquee has been removed. Handling creases are visible under close inspection. Would mat and frame Exc. Also included is 4.25x6" "Souvenir Folder" featuring Mr. & Mrs. Gargantua. Folder opens to show a total of 18 tinted photos, 9 on each side. 9 show Gargantua, 9 are of various circus scenes including photos of clowns Felix Adler, Paul Jerome and Lou Jacobs. Light surface dust. Folder VF. Also included is 7x10" hardbound book ©1972 by Gene Plowden. 96 pages. Book chronicles in extensive text and photos the history of Gargantua and includes 4 color plates of various related posters. A similar poster to the one offered here is seen in this book. A nice, interesting grouping.
